Title: The Rich Girl
Author: R.L. Stine

Rating: 10Thumbs Up

Review:

This book includes traitors who would have never been thought of. It all started when Emma & Sydney were working at the movies. Before leaving work they had to take out the garbage, 3 full sacks to be precise. Sydney's bracelet, the one that had been in her family forever, fell inside the trash bin. It landed on a greasy duffel bag. They took it out and found that there was money, at least a hundred thousand dollars, inside the bag. Then they promised each other they wouldn't tell anybody, but Sydney told her boyfriend, Jason. He tried "killing" Emma for her share of money. Jason & Emma had gone out for weeks, and they made Sydney go crazy so they would keep all the money to themselves. Unfortunately, for them, the money was fake,

Title: Chocolate for the Teen's Soul
Author: Kay Allenbaugh, compiler

Rating:

Review:

I was reading "Chocolate for a Teen's Soul" - the part called "An Angel in Disguise." I loved that story. It was so good and yet so sad. I liked both the characters. It was so touching and so loving. The boy named Danny seemed so cute and romantic, but when he had to leave, on the way home he was in an accident. That was the saddest part.

Title: The 7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens
Author: Sean Covey

Rating: 10Thumbs Up

Review:

Besides the Bible, I have never read a book that has affected me so much; it changed me. Sean Covey really knows what he's talking about and he acually DOESN'T tell you what to do, but rather how to be the person you want to be. I see the world in a different perspective, and I highly recommend this book to not just teens, but to everyone looking for themselves and to those who need to understand the teens of today. This is a book worth reading, it's totally something else. I can honestly say it is my favorite book.

Title: The Samurai's Tale
Author: Cristian Hauggard

Rating:10Thumbs Up

Review:

This book was by far one of the best books that I've ever read. It talks about the tale of a young boy whose whole family is killed by an elite group of samurai and he has to deal with the harsh realities of life. In the end, however, he ends up having a different outlook on life and learns many things along the long journey of life. It is very sad, though.

Title: The Chocolate War
Author: Robert Cormier

Rating:Thumbs Up

Review:

I finally got around to reading this book. My friends had been telling me about it for weeks, but I've been real busy lately.
It's about this guy named Jerry. He's going to a private school, and they have to sell candy to help pay the bills. He refuses, and some bullies in class get on his case. There's this teacher named Brother Leon who's really creepy!
I like this book a lot. I won't tell you how it ends, but don't assume that the good guys always win. It got me thinking about what I would do if I were Jerry. I'm glad my school isn't like this.

Title: The Giver
Author: Lois Lowry

Rating:Thumbs Up

Review:

I need someone to help settle an argument. Some friends and I all read Lois Lowry's THE GIVER. It is a story about a community where every aspect of people's lives are controlled. They are assigned things like careers, spouses, and children. There is no fear, no pain, and no conflict. It seems like it should be a great place to live, but it isn't!
The book reads very fast and is quite interesting. My problem is that my friends and I cannot decide how the book ends. Is the red sled real? Does he escape or not? I'm really not sure. What do you think?
I really liked the book, even if I am confused on how it ended.

Review:

This is a book about a teenaged girl who is, at times a werewolf. Vivian, the part-time werewolf, falls in love with a real human. When she exposes her "hairier" side to her boyfriend, she doesn't get the reaction she was hoping for.
There's lots of wolf action, and the book is being made into a movie!

Title: Fire in the Sky : Hardy Boys Casefiles #126
Author: Franklin W. Dixon

Rating:Thumbs Way Down

Review:

I was just looking through the paperback racks when I found this book. I wasn't sure what to make of it at first. It did not look like the kind of Hardy Boys books that I was used to reading. I like the blue ones with covers made out of wood.
Anyways, I took the book home and read through it. What a waste! This isn't the Hardy Boys that I know and love. This is some modern version -- some kind of ripoff of the true series. All the speech was very 90s, and it almost made me sick. Even the picture on the front looks like something out of BOP magazine. Sure, there was lots of action, but little suspense. I was bored silly! Is this Dixon guy even alive anymore, or is someone just using his name?
Give me the old wooden books any day!
