Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library :: Help Topics
Customer Sign In to the Library Catalog
Benefits of Signing In
Sign in. It makes sense. When you sign in with a Library card number and PIN you can:
- Place holds without entering a card number and PIN for each hold you place.
- Access the My Account functions to renew or review items you have checked out without having to enter your card number and PIN each time.
How to Sign In
Look for the boxes for entering your user ID and PIN. Scroll down on the search screen, if necessary.
Your user ID is the number that appears on your Library card. You will enter only the numbers, not any letters from your card.
Your PIN is something you choose, using 4 digits. If you do not know your PIN, contact customer service and accounts or ask staff at the public desks for assistance.
When you have entered the correct user ID and PIN, click Login.
If you do not yet have a library card, learn more about how to obtain one.
Using My Account is Not Signing In
If you use the My Account link to enter the catalog, you are not signed in unless you use the Library Catalog sign-in form. You have merely checked your account information. None of the benefits of the sign in apply to users who use the My Account link without signing in first.
Log Out
Since your sign in offers you personalized features, you will want to exit or logout when you are done.
Look for the logout or exit links in the navigation bar.
