PRESS RELEASE

All Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library Branches Closed March 19-21, 2010

Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library facilities will be closed from March 19 – 21, 2010 for a combination of furlough and closed days.  The non-paid furlough and closed days were approved by city council at the beginning of this fiscal year and have been implemented to help address significant budget challenges faced by the City of Stockton.

Between March 19 – 21 all Branch Libraries throughout the Stockton-San Joaquin County Library system will be closed for a combination of non-paid furlough days and Closed days.  Each branch will reopen on their next scheduled open day according to their regular business hours which can be found at www.stockton.lib.ca.us or by inquiring in person at the branch location.

Materials will not be due from March 19 – 21, 2010.  The Library has adjusted material due dates to exclude any furlough or closed days as return dates.  Some branches will also close their book drops.  Please check with specific branches to see if their book drop will be open or closed.

As always, the Library remains open online at www.stockton.lib.ca.us.  The Stockton San Joaquin County Public Library, a division of the Community Services Department, serves residents throughout six cities and the unincorporated areas of San Joaquin County. For more information call toll free in San Joaquin County (800) 805-7323 or if calling from within Stockton, (209) 937-8221.  Visit us online at www.stockton.lib.ca.us.
