STOCKTON-SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY PUBLIC LIBRARY’S
NEW HOURS FOR THE CITY OF STOCKTON CENTRAL LIBRARY AND THE FOUR STOCKTON LIBRARY BRANCHES
Effective July 20, 2009 the hours for the Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library facilities operating within the City of Stockton are as follows:

The City of Stockton Library branches, not unlike libraries across the state, are reducing hours and days of operation as they cope with tight budgets. All departments have identified ways to increase efficiencies and trim spending and the Library was no exception.
“We are doing what is necessary to meet the budgetary needs of our City. While it would be a dream to have the ability to be open more hours all days of the week, it just isn’t feasable in the current economic time. Despite the reduction in hours, we are proud to still be operating all our branches and providing the many communities we serve with what for some is their only access to needed information and resources,” said Pamela Sloan, Community Services Director.
The free resources the library provides are even more valuable in today’s uncertain economic climate. For example, people without computers who need them to apply for jobs, unemployment benefits, and the like have the ability to do so at the Library.
The Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library county branches will retain the newly implemented hours that began on July 1, 2009 and are as follows:
