Troke Branch Library is on the Move

Stockton-San Joaquin County Public Library's temporary Troke Branch Library, currently located at Weberstown Mall will close its doors on Wednesday, December 24 and begin the move back to the original branch library location at 502 W. Benjamin Holt Drive, Stockton.

"We were glad to have the opportunity to continue providing service to our loyal library customers and to serve new customers at the Weberstown Mall," said Library Director Natalie R. Rencher. She adds, "The management of Weberstown Mall were a pleasure to work with and we have enjoyed being a part of the mall environment."

The Troke Branch Library has been operating out of the Weberstown Mall since June of this year to accommodate customers while the original facility underwent construction to repair interior and exterior beams. In addition, ADA improvements and a redesign of space inside the building have been completed in an effort to better accommodate all customers.

"We learned a lot from the move here and suspect that the move back will be even smoother. Our main goal is to have the facility open to our customers as soon as possible and to continue our efforts to meet our strategic goals to: Create and empower readers, Create a comfortable space, and to Connect to the online world," said David Gouker, Supervising Librarian of Troke Branch Library.

The Troke Branch Library will close at regular time at 8:00pm on Tuesday, December 23. The work of relocating furniture, technology, and the collection to the Benjamin Holt location will take place the first part of January. We are expecting to celebrate the re-opening with our customers in early February. "Maybe a Valentine's Day Celebration is in order -- customers can celebrate their love for the Library," stated Library spokesperson Heather Mompean.
