This is a directory of 2,880,532 of the world's cities and towns, sorted by country and linked to a map for each town. The site gives the town's longitude, latitude and altitude and shows its position on local, country and world maps. Current weather for the nearest weather station is also available.

How Far Is It?

This service uses data from the US Census and a supplementary list of cities around the world to find the latitude and longitude of two places, and then calculates the distance between them (as the crow flies). It also provides a map showing the two places, using the Xerox PARC Map Server.

G.I.S. group, offers a variety of static maps of interest to homeowners, realtors, politicians and general citizens. The are presented in .pdf format which requires an Adobe Acrobat Reader on your computer. There is also an interactive map viewer that allows you to view and zoom in on various aerial view maps, General Plan, zoning maps, irrigation districts and many other specialized maps.
