Community Resource Directory (San Joaquin County Worknet): This directory has been created to improve access to human services, employment, job training, economic development, health information, and various other community resources for San Joaquin County residents.

Small Business Development Center: The San Joaquin Delta College Small Business Development Center (SBDC) is located in the sunny Central Valley of California and serves San Joaquin, Amador, Alpine and Calaveras Counties. Children's Museum of Stockton

Haggin Museum: The Haggin Museum, San Joaquin County's only art and history museum, has been referred to by SUNSET Magazine as " ...one of the undersung gems of California." Its art galleries feature some of the finest examples of works by such noted 19th-century painters as Albert Bierstadt, Rosa Bonheur, and William-Adolphe Bouguereau, as well as many other American and European artists. Its history displays focus upon this area's past and the accomplishments of its residents, such as Charles Weber--Stockton's founder; Benjamin Holt--inventor of the Caterpillar track-type tractor; and Tillie Lewis--the "Tomato Queen."

San Joaquin Genealogical Society: The San Joaquin Genealogical Society is a non-profit, non-sectarian organization founded in 1952. Their purpose is to promote general interest in genealogy and history by individual and group cooperation and to cooperate with other similar organizations. They encourage the research and writing of genealogical books, papers, and lectures on subjects of genealogical interest through monthly meetings, workshops, seminars, lectures and field trips.

San Joaquin Historical Society & Museum: The San Joaquin County Historical Society and Museum is an institution for the collection, preservation and interpretation of San Joaquin County's evolution of agriculture, social, cultural and economic heritage, providing continuing education, enrichment and knowledge of our past and present, for the future.

Stockton Civic Theatre

Stockton Chorale: This 50-plus year tradition boasts approximately 120 voices. The season runs typically through May each year.

Stockton Symphony: The official site of the Stockton Symphony, established in 1926.

Ed-Data (Education Data Partnership): This site allows you to find out about your local school district and about specific schools in your community. From this opening page, you just select the level you want: State, County, School District, or individual School. For example, to check on a specific school, click on School Profiles. Then at the next screen, specify county (San Joaquin), district (Lodi Unified) and School (Davis Elementary). Then in the box to the right specify either STAR test results or School profile and you will receive detailed information about that school.

San Joaquin Delta College: San Joaquin Delta College is a two-year Community College founded in 1963 following the reorganization of the former Stockton College (which began in 1935).

San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District
www.valleyair.org: San Joaquin County is part of the San Joaquin Valley Air Pollution Control District. The district is "committed to improving the health and quality of life for all Valley residents through effective and cooperative air quality programs." Among their voluntary programs are Spare the Air, Wood Burning, and Smoking Vehicle. The web site offers daily air quality status and forecasts as well as tips about how to burn wood cleanly and when wood burning is prohibited.

www.caravannews.com: This monthly periodical focuses on Stockton and San Joaquin County community events.

e-Stockton: estockton.com was started to help get the word out regarding events and activities. Local online users can go to one site and see what's happening in Stockton. The goal is to have local events such as plays, concerts, sporting events, business meetings, school events and more, online each and every day. Viewers can search for upcoming events by date or by name. They can even search months in advance. (This is especially helpful if you're planning an event.)

Get Fit! Stockton: Get Fit! Stockton is a city-wide fitness and wellness program that began in June and will conclude with the Emergency Food Bank of Stockton/San Joaquin Thanksgiving Run and Walk Against Hunger on Thanksgiving morning, November 27, 2008.
