Become a Tutor Volunteer
Read, learn, discover with the Adult Literacy Program.
The Literacy Services Office is putting out a call for volunteers.
Volunteer Tutors
- must have good reading and writing skills
- are asked to commit to six months of tutoring
- attend a two-hour tutor training and participate in being matched with a learner
- receive all resource materials from the Adult Literacy Office at no cost
- receive assistance selecting materials and devising learning strategies appropriate to the learner's abilities, needs, and goals
- participate in quarterly workshops for continued training
- gain tremendous satisfaction in watching someone learn to read and achieve their goals
