On display at Maya Angelou Branch through December.

On December 10, 2004, the Library was honored to receive the first of two decorative display quilts for the Children's Section of the Chavez Library from local artist Peig Fairbrook.

The two quilts featuring themes from children's books will reflect the heritages and ethnicities of the local area.

Ms. Fairbrook was awarded a grant from the Stockton Arts Commission to produce the quilts, which will travel during the next year among the various Stockton Branch Libraries and eventually be housed permanently at the Cesar Chavez Central Library.
